Two young, strong-willed Scottish sisters, one a left-wing activist, the other a born-to-shop fashionista, take their late father's ashes to Cuba, the site of many intriguing family legends. Arriving in Havana, the two women promptly lose the ashes and go through a series of misadventures - both romantic and dangerous - to try to retrieve them, making some surprising discoveries along the way about the family ties that hold them together.
Generally regarded as one of the finest young actresses in European Cinema, Eva was the winner of the London Film Critics Circle British actress of the Year award for 2004 for playing the lead role in Ken Loach’s film “Ae Fond Kiss”. She has also twice won the IFTA Best Actor in a Leading Role (Film) award. Her other credits include Neil Jordan’s “Breakfast on Pluto”, Ol Parker’s “Imagine Me & You”, Tom Shankland’s “The Children” and Brian Kirk’s “Middletown”.
